For three months in the autumn of 1971 a group of horticultural botanist travelled through a little know area of East Nepal collecting seed of plants suitable for cultivation on Western gardens. As a result many new and interesting seeds were introduced, several for the first time, and the plants are now to be found in some of the most famous gardens and collections in Europe. Here the author tells the story of the expedition, describing the plants as well as the birds and people that were encountered.
