John Davidson was born in Barrhead, Renfrewshire, in 1857. After teaching for a few years, he found success in London as a literary reviewer, editor and poet - being hailed by WB Yeats as a leader in the new wave of London writing. Following an introduction where she tells of John Davidson’s life the author concentrates on a critique of his work.
