They provide a continuous record of her life from 1915, when she was thirty-three, until her death in 1941. No other writer of our century has been the subject of as much scrutiny as Virginia Woolf, and nowhere is her sparkling mind better revealed or more spontaneous then in the intimacy of these journals. It has been argued that this final volume can be read as the longest suicide note in the English language. Yet it is scarcely a morbid volume. She wrote the last entry in her diary four days before drowning herself in the river Ouse. It ends in mid-sentence – just as Virginia Woolf would have wished her life to end. Price:
